Product Description

Efficiently adapting to dynamic market changes, enhancing productivity, and gaining a competitive edge through rapid innovation are key goals for any organization. Cisco® Unified Communications Solutions play a pivotal role in achieving these objectives by facilitating seamless collaboration across diverse workspaces, ensuring a secure and high-quality rich-media experience.

In the context of product specifics, effective call coverage is crucial, particularly for roles such as administrative assistants. This involves the real-time monitoring and management of call statuses across various lines, extending beyond the capabilities of Cisco IP Phone models like 8851, 8861, and 8865. Notably, the Cisco IP Phone 8800 Key Expansion Module (KEM) addresses this need by augmenting the features of these models with an additional 18 physical keys, each offering access to 18 more keys through page keys, totaling 36 extra keys.

The 8800 KEM is compatible with the IP Phone 8851, 8861, and 8865, allowing up to three modules for the latter two models and up to two modules for the IP Phone 8851. The KEM is equipped with a color LCD display that aids quick identification of associated buttons, and its brightness can be customized through the settings menu of the IP Phone models. The primary purpose of the 8800 KEM is to furnish extra keys for directory numbers, speed dial, or programmable feature keys, enhancing call-coverage capabilities. These keys are illuminated, facilitating easy identification of line statuses, making the KEM an ideal tool for call coverage.

While resembling traditional direct station selection/busy lamp field (DSS/BLF) modules in certain aspects, it is important to note that the 8800 KEM is not intended to function as an operator or attendant console. Furthermore, the two illuminated page buttons beneath the display enable users to toggle between the first and second pages of 18 buttons, granting access to the complete set of 36 keys.
