This phone is equipped with 8 programmable feature buttons that have three levels, providing a total of 24 programmable buttons. Each button is equipped with dual LEDs (red/green) for line/call status. The fixed feature buttons include Speaker, Headset, Mute, Volume, Avaya Menu, Phone, History, Contacts, and Voicemail Message.
For users requiring additional programmable buttons, the Avaya 9508 supports the Avaya BM12 Button Module, allowing an additional 24 programmable buttons. Up to three BM12 modules can be added per phone, with the requirement of an 1151C1 power supply to power the BM12. The phone also features contextual softkeys (4 buttons), a high-quality 2-way speakerphone, wall-mountable capability (requires optional Avaya 9500/9600 Wall Mount Kit), a headset port, navigation keys, a message waiting indicator, and a 4-way cluster of navigational keys with an OK button.
